'ONE YEAR TO GO'

2023 UCI Cycling World Championships

Today marks ‘one year to go’ until the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships brings the biggest cycling event in history to Glasgow and Scotland. We’ll see more than 8,000 amateur and elite cyclists from more than 120 countries across the 13 UCI World Championships taking place in Glasgow and across Scotland including BMX, MTB, downhill, para cycling, track, road and lots more.

We are delighted to share that Mòr Diversity are working with 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships as their Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead for the event. These last few months we’ve been developing a framework for Inclusion to make sure that the event engages with as wide an audience as possible and reaches out to people from all walks of life. This is a real opportunity to showcase Scotland’s commitment to inclusion and using the power of the bike as a catalyst for change by giving everyone the opportunity to experience the freedom of riding a bike, particularly those who are excluded or marginalised in society.

I'm really enjoying this opportunity, and looking forward to working with all the partners, event organisers and various community groups to bring about this change, and which will create a blueprint for the future that makes cycling a more inclusive activity for everyone. (Aneela McKenna)
