MÒR DIVERSITY
Mòr Diversity is a specialist Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Anti-Racism consultancy working at the intersection of people, systems and communities.
We partner with organisations to build inclusive cultures, strengthen connection and turn equity into everyday practice.
MÒR
Mòr: Scots Gaelic for ‘big’ and ‘great’. It’s the impact we strive for in everything we do and the passion we bring to our work.

ABOUT
Mòr Diversity was founded by Aneela McKenna, who has worked as an equality, diversity and inclusion professional for over 20 years.
We create change with impact, supporting organisations to build cultures where people feel valued, connected and able to thrive. Our work brings together a trusted network of like-minded, human-centred associates — professionals who share our values and bring deep expertise across inclusion, wellbeing, community and systems change.
Grounded in lived experience, evidence and insight, we help organisations see their people, communities and systems differently. Through creative and participatory approaches, we build capability, bring people with us and support lasting improvement across organisations and the communities they influence.

CLIENTS

Ordnance Survey
The Ordnance Survey consumer team participated in a fantastic and thought-provoking Mòr Diversity workshop. The session helped us reflect on building diversity into our strategic thinking, enabling us to engage more effectively with both our customers and colleagues. I would thoroughly recommend Mor Diversity to any organisation looking to deepen their understanding of diversity in the outdoors. I have already recommended them as an ideal contributor for a major outdoor trade conference later this year. Nick Giles, Managing Director

Association of mountaineering instructors
Mor Diversity developed and delivered a tailored Equity and Diversity workshop for our members, and was excellent to work with from first contact and info gathering to facilitating the course. We've had wonderful feedback from our members, who have been inspired to adapt the ways they work and incorporate key learnings from the training. The team’s years of professional expertise show through their work and ease in discussing complex ideas, challenging our status quo in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. Kirsty Pallas, Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI)

cycling uk
Mòr Diversity worked closely with us on the development of a new Diversity and Inclusion Champion role. They expertly produced a comprehensive toolkit and delivered an insightful, accessible workshop to our affiliates. It has been a pleasure to collaborate with the business; the feedback from our membership has been exceptionally positive and we look forward to working with Mor Diversity again in the future. Alex Cuppleditch, Head of Volunteering, Cycling UK

Women of Colour Cycling Group
Mòr Diversity has been indispensable in our process of setting up as a charity. The consultancy brought experience, insight, and empathy to our strategy sessions, making a complex process feel surprisingly seamless. We would have been much further behind without this support; thanks to their professionalism and guidance, we successfully formalised our structure in less than a year. Jenni Gwiazdowski, Chairperson

DMBinS
We chose Mòr Diversity to deliver a keynote at our conference because we wanted a presentation that would both challenge and inspire our audience. This is a difficult combination to achieve but Aneela’s force of personality and passion combined with an in-depth knowledge of the subject, mountain biking and diversity, meant that it was a highlight of the conference. We know that several delegates have considered and changed their organisational policies or procedures as a result of her presentation. Graeme McLean, Head of Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS)
CASE STUDIES

2023 UCI Cycling World Championships
Sector: Global Sport & Events
The 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships was a major international sporting event, bringing together multiple cycling disciplines, venues and global audiences across Scotland.
Mòr Diversity was commissioned to lead the strategic vision for equality, diversity and inclusion across the event. We worked as a central partner to the organising body and delivery partners, providing a cohesive inclusion framework supported by monitoring, accountability and clear governance.
Our work included comprehensive accessibility audits across venues, ensuring inclusive design was embedded from the outset rather than treated as an add-on. The project concluded with a detailed evaluation report capturing learning, outcomes and the event’s longer-term legacy for equity and inclusion within cycling and major sporting events.

RSPB – Nature Neighbourhoods
Sector: Environment & Community
The RSPB is the UK’s largest nature conservation charity, working to protect wildlife while connecting people and communities with nature.
Working in partnership with the RSPB, Mòr Diversity developed and delivered the Nature Neighbourhoods programme to support community organisations to engage more effectively with diverse communities. Our focus was on building confidence, skills and understanding so that equality, diversity and inclusion became central to outreach practice.
The programme enabled organisations to move beyond traditional engagement approaches, developing creative, locally relevant methods that support more inclusive environmental action and community participation.

Outward Bound Trust
Sector: Education & Outdoor Learning
The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity that uses outdoor experiences to support learning, confidence and personal development.
Mòr Diversity was invited to design and deliver an intensive development programme for the Trust’s internal EDI Champions. Using interactive workshops and applied learning, we equipped participants with practical tools to influence culture and embed inclusive practice across the organisation.
This work strengthened internal capability, ensuring the organisation’s commitment to inclusion is actively led and supported by a confident and skilled internal network.

Santa Cruz Bicycles
Sector: Private Sector / Manufacturing
Santa Cruz Bicycles is a global mountain bike manufacturer with a strong brand identity and workforce-led culture.
We partnered with Santa Cruz Bicycles to deliver a series of values-based workshops for their 150-person workforce. The programme created space for open dialogue around inclusion, allyship and social responsibility, helping staff connect organisational values with everyday behaviour.
The work contributed to a more cohesive workplace culture where inclusion is understood as a shared responsibility rather than an abstract principle.
Outdoor Industry Research
Sector: Sport, Leisure & Outdoor Industries
This project focused on the UK mountain bike sector, spanning grassroots participation, commercial organisations and national stakeholders.
Mòr Diversity was commissioned to undertake an in-depth research project exploring systemic barriers and emerging good practice within mountain bike culture. The research highlighted challenges around access, representation and informal structures, providing a clear evidence base for change.
The findings have informed sector-wide conversations and events, helping organisations and leaders take practical steps towards a more inclusive outdoor culture.
Cycling UK – Diversity & Inclusion Champions
Sector: Voluntary & Membership Organisations
Cycling UK is a national charity and membership organisation promoting cycling for transport, leisure and wellbeing.
Cycling UK engaged Mòr Diversity to support the development of a Diversity & Inclusion Champion role across its network of over 200 affiliated cycling groups. We designed a practical toolkit to clarify the purpose, responsibilities and impact of the role, aligned with the organisation’s inclusion commitments.
The work supported grassroots clubs to embed inclusion locally, helping broaden participation and strengthen community-level engagement.
Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI)
Sector: Professional Bodies & Outdoor Education
The Association of Mountaineering Instructors is a professional body representing qualified instructors working across the outdoor sector.
AMI commissioned Mòr Diversity to design and deliver a two-part CPD programme focused on inclusive leadership. The sessions responded to underrepresentation in the sector and supported members to develop confidence, inclusive practice and leadership capability.
Participants have since applied inclusive and positive action approaches in their professional contexts, supporting wider access and engagement within mountaineering and outdoor instruction.
Singletrack Magazine – Understanding Racism Toolkit
Sector: Media & Cycling Industry
Singletrack Magazine is a leading publication within the mountain biking and cycling industry.
Mòr Diversity was commissioned to develop an awareness-raising toolkit to support the cycling trade in understanding racism and its impact. Delivered through video-based resources, the toolkit enabled honest reflection and practical discussion around barriers to inclusion.
The work supported organisations across the trade to move beyond awareness and consider actionable steps to improve diversity and inclusion in practice.
